How we research, check and correct

This covers the PropClario guides and data pages, such as the council rates pages. Reports follow the methodology.

Who is responsible

The guides are written by the PropClario team. PropClario’s founder decides what is covered and approves each guide before it is published. PropClario is a trading name of Rubik’s Cube Consulting Pty Ltd.

How guides and data are researched

  • Primary sources first: legislation and planning schemes, Victorian Government and State Revenue Office pages, and each council’s own budget. A secondary source is never the reason for a rule or a figure.
  • Each guide links the official source for the rules it states and shows the date it was published and last updated. Facts that change, such as fees, levies and flood rules, are checked again against the source before the guide is approved.
  • Data pages show the source and the date each figure was checked, and the date it is next due. A figure we could not read from the named source is shown as “No record in named source”, never as zero or a guess.
  • The same language rules as the reports apply. We describe what a record shows and where it stops, and we do not value property, forecast prices or tell anyone whether to buy.

How AI assistance is used

Guides are drafted with the help of an AI writing assistant, working from a brief and the primary sources. The draft is then checked against those sources and against our list of approved claims, and goes through the same prohibited-language scan as the reports. Nothing is published until the founder has read and approved that exact version. The images in the guides are drawn in code, not generated by an image model.

Professional review

The guides have not been reviewed by a conveyancer or a lawyer. They are general information about Victorian rules, not legal advice about a particular purchase. Before you sign or settle, ask your own conveyancer or lawyer.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, email hello@propclario.com.au with the page and, if you can, the source. We check it against the primary source. If it is wrong we correct the page; a corrected guide is checked and approved again before it replaces the old version. Corrections to a released report follow the report corrections process.

Independence

No paid placements, sponsored content or referral fees. No council, agent, lender or other business pays to appear in, or to shape, a guide or a data page. The guides mention PropClario’s own report where it is relevant; if that ever changes to include a partner or referral arrangement, it will be disclosed on the page.
